How they work

Vent valves

Vent valves are designed to open at a specific, predetermined, opening pressure and re-seal once system pressure drops. The valve keeps the pressure in until a predetermined pressure is reached and then the valve opens to vent.

Used in various industries such as:

  • Medical Devices & Micro Fluidics
  • Automotive
  • (Food) consumer devices

Applications often include vessels, tanks, water distribution systems, and other fluid systems to vent air, gas or liquids.

Features:

  • Opens at a specific, predetermined, pressure
  • Wide range of opening pressures available

Most common for vent valves are umbrella valves, which allow a very precisely configured opening pressure. For two way breathing a combination valve or an X-fragm dispensing valve could also be considered.
