What started with a business plan and an empty basement turned into a market leader today. We are honoured to call the largest medical device makers, the most innovative automotive car producers, the largest coffee machine makers, but also the smallest start–ups, our customers.

1998
Business plan & startup
Nyland Flowtech registered as a startup.
Founder Peter Nijland develops first products:
- 5 Duckbill valves
- 5 Umbrella valves
- 1 Combination valve
2000
First prototype tools in operation
- Samples being sent out to customers.
- First Solid Works License acquired.
- First paying customer!
Company name change and registration of minivalve.com
2002
First molding machine
The first injection molding machine arrives at the newly rented factory at the Jaartveldstraat in Oldenzaal, moving Minivalve from the basement to a real factory with clean room and all. Peter, and his brother Tom, who also joined the business, can’t wait to get started!
2003
Yellow Springs Ohio sales office
Minivalve expands further with the establishment of a sales office in Yellow Springs, Ohio. First trade show attendance at the MD&M West in Anaheim, the COMPAMED in Dusseldorf, and the MEDTEC in Stuttgart.
The factory in Oldenzaal continues to grow and now has 4 employees. First 1 million pieces order shipped to a customer in Asia.
2008
Further expansion
Second and third patent filed.
Injection machine#2 arrives in Oldenzaal, and manufacturing operations switch to 3 shifts, 24/5.
2010
10 million valves shipped annually
The rented facilities is becoming crowded and Minivalve acquires a greenfield site for a new factory at Lubeckstraat 21.
A new sales office is opened in Cleveland, Ohio.
Minivalve now produces 10 million valves to customers in 40 countries per year and 3 more injection molding machines are added to the cleanroom.
Standard valve portfolio is expanded to 45 different types of valves.
2011
ISO9001 Certification achieved
Output increases to 20 million valves per year and the greenfield construction of the new factory has started.
Bigger molds are built to accommodate customers larger demand, and assembly and ultrasonic welding capabilities are added to our manufacturing system.
2014
Minivalve moves into its new factory
Minivalve moves into its new factory.
With ever more injection molding machines and 45 colleagues, the valve output is growing rapidly.
Also the sales team in Ohio is expanded.
2017
Minivalve Asia sales office in Singapore is founded
Minivalve Asia sales office is founded to serve growing Asian market. Inhouse tool shop is created with ultra-high precision, tooling production, finally control over our own tooling. Minivalve now owns 6 valve patents.
2020
More molding machines & factory expansion
More molding machines & factory expansion. Further increasing manufacturing capacity. 120 colleagues now work every day to deliver the best valve solutions for our customers.
2023
Minivalve celebrates its 25th anniversary
Minivalve celebrates its 25th anniversary with a day full of events. In the morning and afternoon, we had an open house for family & friends of our employees, followed by a picknick. In the evening we organized a party with all our colleagues and their partners.
2023
IATF 16949 & Minivalve Korea
IATF 16949 certification achieved and Minivalve Sales Office Korea is founded. Output increases to hundreds of millions valves per year.
