Materials

Our valves are manufactured in a wide variety of materials. Our mission and passion is finding materials that fit your application best for function and cost. Whether it’s for use in drug delivery, fuel lines, milk steamers, breast or bilge pumps, water bottles, or any of the thousands of other applications that rely on our small but mighty valves every day, we ensure the suitable material for your products and market needs.

Materials

Elastomer Materials

Elastomers make excellent valves. With so many options, every elastomer has their own unique qualities and benefits, so we carry a broad portfolio of choices. By working closely with you, we’ll find the perfect elastomer for your valves to perform at the highest standards for your industry and sector.

Silicone

Silicone is a highly versatile and cost-effective material used in many applications. Our silicones are all medical grade, meeting USP class VI and ISO10993, and suitable for sterilization. As well as food grade, per EU1935-2004 and FDA 21 CFR. Its temperature range is excellent too, with most versions ideal for use anywhere from -40°C to +200°C (-40°F to + 400°F). Silicone is also available in a broad hardness spectrum from very soft (Shore A 20) to very firm (Shore A 80). With the complete spectrum available in-house, we select the best hardness for your application.

EPDM

Our EPDMs are high EP, peroxide cured materials, carefully compounded for intricate precision valve molding. It has best resistance to Steam, Polar substances, Ketones, diluted acids and alkalines as well as suitable to meet many food certification standards, including EU1935-2004 and FDA 21 CFR. Its temperature ranges from 40°C to +120°C (-40°F to + 250°F).

Fluorosilicone (FVMQ)

Fluorosilicone is exceptionally durable and well-suited for applications exposed to hydrocarbons, like fuel or oil. Widely used in automotive parts, it perfectly balances silicone’s excellent temperature ranges and Fluorocarbons’ strong chemical resistance.

Fluorocarbon (FKM)

Fluorocarbon is used in applications in harsh environments where strong chemical resistance
is required.

Rezlyn® Valves

Rezlyn Valves are Minivalve’s miniature valve components specially made with ‘high dynamic perfluorelastomer.’ These dynamic little valves combine the best chemical resistance and low permeability with the most comprehensive temperature range and overall function excellence. Applications include the harshest chemical environments, where highly corrosive solvents, fuels, and temperature extremes where other elastomeric materials would fail. The paragon of toughness, Rezlyn Valves are just as versatile as all our other valves.

Plastics

Our most popular plastics include Co-Polyester, polycarbonate, PPE (glass-filled), and PEEK. These meet many certifications required, whether for medical devices and food applications or automotive.
