About us
Minivalve is your partner in the development, manufacturing and worldwide distribution of miniature, self-actuating valves and elastomeric valve components for innovative products. Particularly one-way valves and pressure relief valves such as duckbill valves and umbrella valves, dispensing valves and access valves.
We supply to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the healthcare, automotive, appliance, water handling and food and packaging industries.
Our valve components are manufactured in Oldenzaal, Netherlands, about an hour and a half east of Amsterdam, in the area of Twente. The area is known for its beautifull environment and excellent technical and economical infrastructure.
Minivalve was started in 1999 by Peter Nijland with the idea that a highly specialized organization dedicated to the development and manufacturing of small elastomeric valves could provide the market with better fluid control solutions at lower cost. Providing miniature valves is the only thing we do and as such we are unique in the world with this business concept. We realize we better be good at it.

Product development
Our valve engineering department develops miniature fluid control components for both our catalog as well as for your specific custom requirements.
It bases on 5 core competences:
- In-depth knowledge of fluid control technology.
- In-depth knowledge of elastomer as an engineering material
- Proprietary tool technology
- Rapid prototyping with full size production equipment and production materials
- Experienced clean room and precision manufacturing technology
These 5 competencies allow us to take a quick and integrated approach when designing a new part, taking function, quality and cost simultaneously into consideration.
Manufacturing
As specialized is our engineering, so is our manufacturing. Proprietary manufacturing processes are centered around the manufacturing of miniature valves and valve components.
Our main manufacturing processes are:
- Precision molding liquid silicone rubber (LSR or LIM)
- Precision molding of exotic elastomers such as fluorocarbon(FKM) and fluorosilicone(FVMQ) rubber and millable high-consistency silicone.
- (Semi-) automatic finishing, washing and clean-room packing
- Assenmbly of housed valves
- Essentially all processes are running in a cleanroom environment
Quality system
We think quality in everything we do. From the very early market communication upto the delivery of our valves and valve components. We are ISO 9000 registered and further comply with ISO 13485 and ISO 16949. Registration of these are forthcoming.

We have specialized in a niche where technical support is of key importance for high customer satisfaction for both valve selection from our catalog as well as for successful development of a customized part. Therefore our sales efforts have a strong technical orientation so we can help our customers solve their fluid control problem.
